About us

Greenish is an Egyptian Foundation that aims to raise awareness about the environmental issues facing Egyptian local communities and offering solutions through art, capacity building and awareness campaigns.

Greenish Journey

The journey started in the south with “Medhat Benzoher” in Aswan in December 2015 with a crazy idea that we would make a trip around Egypt about the environment.

In 2017 we left our work and started Greenish.

We stayed for 2 months until we made the first training for Greenish trainers in June 2017 and 8 people joined our family.

We traveled to more than 10 governorates. This time it is more and stronger.

In February 2019 we made the first training for volunteers, many of whom are now working in Greenish, either part-time or full-time. . . . “Shady Khalil” co-founder of Greenish

Our Vision

Improving the Health & Wellbeing of Residents in the MENA Region

Our Mission

Developing environmental balance through Environmental Research, Advocacy, Capacity Building, and Education (RACE).

Research

Local knowledge development is important for effective environmental management in the MENA region, covering topics such as climate engagement, waste and plastic management, climate adaptation, and environmental management.

Advocacy

Maintain a strong digital presence to constantly engage the public on important narratives. Engage in national, regional and international networks on environment and climate subjects.

Capacity Building

Capacitate youth and civil society in Egypt and the MENA region on various environment and climate elements, through adopting the general principles on Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE).

Education

Through the Greenish Clubs Programme, work to establish educational platforms in Universities and Schools. Encouraging more youth to engage with social entrepreneurship Facilitating workshops that bring partners and youth together to further strengthen the community
